Seasonal advertisements

Blog
As you go about advertising your product or service keep in mind that you don't need to have every ad be about a discount -- sometimes you can get great traction just from combining an announcement about a new product with an ad that reflects the time of year or the nearest holiday. We created a set of coordinating ads to be used on Facebook, in an html email, on the website, and as part of the footer for the regular html news announcements that this client sends out. Sales is not Marketing

Sales is not Marketing

Blog
I’ve spent a lot of time lately reading blog posts on marketing, and listening to podcasts and streaming videos on marketing, and have noticed a huge problem in many of these otherwise-useful bits of information. And that problem is a confusion about what marketing is. This division still works logically for all sizes and types of business: everything that happens before a client steps through your doors is marketing, everything that happens after that step is sales. There are many industries that seem to have forgotten (or never learned) this definition. For example, I…

Custom Coupon Cards

Custom Coupon Cards

Portfolio
New and old fans alike have picked up a variety of business card-sized coupons at the Flying Lizard Motorsports booth over the past 6 years. We've designed cards with coupon codes, cards with scratch-off areas showing a prize, and cards that could be redeemed for free lanyards or stickers. FLMS has given out the cards at race tracks ranging from Atlanta to Utah and even in France during the 24 Hours of le Mans. Most of the cards have been printed by Overnightprints.com but we've also used a couple of specialty vendors for the scratch-off cards. We've designed both stand-alone cards showing off their latest store items on blocks of solid colors, and cards that featured graphical elements from their art cars (designed by skateboard artist Troy Lee) and other…

Graphic Map & Schedule

Portfolio
For the 2007 American Le Mans season we created a graphic schedule for Flying Lizard Motorsports. We used a map to show all the race locations, dates, and TV schedules. Printed as a 4x6 magnet, the team handed the schedule out at their first race of the season.

OSBEELS Oregon Logo Design

OSBEELS Oregon Logo Design

Portfolio
OSBEELS approached us to design a logo for use on marketing materials. They especially needed a symbol that could be used for booth decoration when at trade shows and conferences where they were providing information to potential engineering students. We enjoyed this Oregon logo design project -- it was fun to figure out a way to describe engineering and land surveying in symbols. The blue color for their logo design came from the blue already in use in their newsletter and on their business cards. The wavy line, curved triangles, and grid lines were all inspired by samples they showed of land surveying and engineering documents.
