Having software manuals and how-to documentation that clearly explains and demonstrates a product or service is important for most companies. For companies with a highly-complex products or specialty services having great documentation can save the company a lot of money in support calls. Complete documentation can be a selling point, and is often a contract requirement.

Tamra Hart, the company founder, is our documentation specialist. She has a degree in Journalism from University of Oregon as well as a certificate in Technical Writing from DeAnza college in Cupertino, CA. She’s written how-to manuals for graphics programs (Harvard Graphics), internet routers, Massively Parallel computing systems (MasPar), risk management/insurance software, adjudication & background check software (Tailored Solutions), and even for mainframe computers (IBM). She was the technical editor for two mainstream HTML books from IDG back in the early days of the web, and she also wrote how-to articles about the web for general audiences (FiberArts and Crafts Report magazines) in the 1990s.  She’s also written technical blog posts for startups like Kicksend (acquired by Pocket Games).

Writing rates are based on the Editorial Freelancers Association’s rate chart. Please contact Tamra if you want a custom quote for your documentation project.
