Special ProjectsSometimes clients call on us to build things they don't have the skills or time for in-house, including product demos, user interface mockups, and intranet sites. We tend to manipulate the HTML code by hand (although we do use some specialized high-end tools to speed things up) and spend a lot of hours making sure each page does exactly what the client wants. If you're in need of a pixel-perfect product demo, want a product mockup to show proof of concept, or need the kind of complex CSS/DHTML coding that WYSIWYG programs can't yet create, then give us a call.Site MaintenanceOnce you build your site, you need to keep it up-to-date. Having an out-of-date web site with lots of cobwebs can be worse than not having one at all!
"The web site looks really great! You guys did a wonderful job updating it. I'm very happy with the way it works. Lets go live. Thanks for all your work." In addition to topical site updates, we recommend that we (or you) regularly test to make sure all exernal links work and that they still go to the correct page, that any forms be tested at least monthly (since system administrators have been known to change server configurations without prior notice), and that your server logs be reviewed on a regular basis for potential problems. Depending on how backups are done on your web server, you also might want to think about having your site burned to CD on a quarterly or half-yearly basis. |
DVD Faces & InterfacesThe cost of replicating DVDs continues to drop so now might be the time to create a DVD to match up with your web site and other marketing collateral. You can hand DVDs out in person and send them by mail upon request. DVDs provide an entertaining mix of still images, video and music (most of the clever things you see on the extras area of the DVDs you rent from BLOCKBUSTER® can now be done by folks like us).
Video StreamingWe can help you get your source video on the web. Your source video can be in pretty much any digital format (such as .mpg, .mov, or .avi) or we can grab video (and still images) from your mini-DV or VHS tapes. The interesting thing about streaming video is that you don't need special support on your server and you can usually just put the video up on your web site the same way you'd put up a graphic (although if your hosting company does happen to have a streaming video server for one or more of the popular streaming formats then there are some nice additional features that can be utilized). Video can also be incorporated directly into a web page and one of the latest trends is to use Macromedia Flash MX to incorporate video into a Flash movie (but users must have the Flash 6+ player installed on their local machines in order for this to work).
