Brochure Design and Flier Design

Brochure Design and Flier Design

Portfolio
A collection of some of the brochures and fliers we've designed. Some of our clients have wanted a brochure design specifically for four-color (CMYK) printing on offset presses, while others have wanted designs they could take to a local copy shop and print off in small quantities. Trifold brochures and self-mailers (with a panel for an address and postage) have also been popular over the years. The one thing that has been fairly consistent over the years is that technical clients (whether software or hardware) seem to like a lot of blue in their brochure designs -- going with the color theory standard of the color blue representing business and conservative choices. We try to make sure our brochure designs are consistent with the clients' logo and standard branding, even…

Web Design Projects

Portfolio
A variety of web design projects from our 18 years in business. Not exactly in reverse chronological order, but close, with older projects toward the end. Hard to believe we started doing this back before you could use tables for layout -- I still remember when they introduced background colors for pages. Save The Date HTML Email

Save The Date HTML Email

Portfolio
For a large party a client was having in San Francisco we created html emails containing the party info. But long before we sent out the invites we had to make sure that everyone was aware of the date. The brief for the graphic was to not only generate interest in the party, but to also convey the pride that the company owner had in the team's accomplishments. We used an iconic photo of a pit stop and a bullet list of highlights to set the stage. Photo was by the team photographer, graphic was designed in Photoshop, and it was sent out to a large mailing list via Constant Contact. [caption id="attachment_233" align="alignnone" width="600"] A team photo and bullet list of team accomplishments highlighted this Save the Date email.[/caption]

Fun HTML Advertisment

Fun HTML Advertisment

Portfolio
Sometimes we get to be a little silly when we're creating an html email advertisement for a client, and this is one of those times. We loved the "dog days of summer" concept and had a lot of fun finding graphics to match the idea. With a short time frame to get the HTML email out, we couldn't create an illustration from scratch, so we went hunting for a stock illustration that would work. This one is from Shutterstock.

Custom Coupon Cards

Custom Coupon Cards

Portfolio
New and old fans alike have picked up a variety of business card-sized coupons at the Flying Lizard Motorsports booth over the past 6 years. We've designed cards with coupon codes, cards with scratch-off areas showing a prize, and cards that could be redeemed for free lanyards or stickers. FLMS has given out the cards at race tracks ranging from Atlanta to Utah and even in France during the 24 Hours of le Mans. Most of the cards have been printed by Overnightprints.com but we've also used a couple of specialty vendors for the scratch-off cards. We've designed both stand-alone cards showing off their latest store items on blocks of solid colors, and cards that featured graphical elements from their art cars (designed by skateboard artist Troy Lee) and other…

Custom Website Header Graphics

Custom Website Header Graphics

Portfolio
For the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 2011, Flying Lizard Motorsport had us do a custom set of website headers that were different from their usual photographic headers. Since they were revealing an art-car design at le Mans, they wanted to build up interest in the car's look-and-feel without showing images of the actual car until it was revealed at Scrutineering. So we used small elements of the art car design for the central theme of the headers, just enough to keep visitors interested and curious. As with all their headers, the website rotated randomly through the set of 5 images each time you viewed a new page.

Print Brochure | Blanchet Fundraising

Our print brochure for Blanchet Catholic School's annual fundraiser was designed at a larger size for more impact. The 9"x6" (when folded) size allowed for larger photos and had space for a chart showing the sponsorship opportunities. Printed by Select Impressions in Salem, it featured the schools blue and white color scheme and our custom photography of the school and the classrooms.

Trade Show Booth Design

Trade Show Booth Design

Portfolio
Long-term client Quantum Polymers wanted a trade show booth that featured the original collage we'd designed for their printed marketing materials. However the booth was 10' tall and 10' wide, and the graphic we'd created was only 12 inches wide by 9 inches tall. Even if there'd been time in the schedule to recreate the collage at a larger size, we were limited by the size of some of the source materials they'd provided for the collage, and we didn't see a way to create a big enough graphic. After a discussion with the company producing their booth about dpi and print quality, we took the collage into Adobe Illustrator and used the Live Trace feature to create a vector version of our complicated collage. We then resized the vector…
